5ghz wifi signal repeater8/17/2023 These are very popular in the UK (likely because MoCA isn't). The tri-band models tend to be in the upper price range (you get what you pay for). Personally I would only entertain the tri-band variety as they have a dedicated radio channel (usually 5GHz based) for the link between the nodes, keeping dual band WiFi capabilities free for end devices. There are numerous WiFi mesh solutions on the market. If there is no coax, you're in the same boat as if installing coax you may as well install Cat5e/Cat6. But working for an ISP with a legacy DOCSIS network, I am familiar with the performance achievable using coax. MoCA isn't all that common here in the UK and I personally have little experience of it. If that is 110% completely not viable then the next best option is if you have coax between the 2 rooms you could look down the MoCA option. However that is often easier said than done. Running a Cat5e/Cat6 will always be the defacto best option. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theory u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
